The Inner Northern Adelaide Partnership works to
develop the relationship between industry and secondary schools,
enabling student access to high quality relevant Vocational
Training and structured workplace learning. VET courses offered
through the partnership involve students from all member schools, giving
students opportunities an individual school may not be able to
support in isolation.
The INA Partnership is a not-for-profit association managed on a
voluntary basis by an Executive and Advisory committee made up of representatives from local
industry, schools, training organisations
and employment agencies.
In 1998, 81 students from nine schools participated in seven
Vocational Education courses. In 2007, over 500 students have
participated in a choice of 16 different Vocational Education and
Training Programs. INA Partnership now deals with over 30 schools.
VET Courses aim to provide students with the skills and knowledge to
- Enter the workforce for the first time
- Upgrade skills
- Move into further study in VET or University
Vocational Education and Training provides skills and qualifications enabeling students to study different VET courses in a short time to gain specific skills and nationally rocognised training while still at school.
The majority of INAP VET courses are run after school hours from 4pm to 7pm at participating schools or registered training facilities.
A number of these courses also provide an opportunity
for students to be placed in industry to practice the skills that
they have acquired in training.
Many Adelaide businesses have provided work placement
opportunities for INA Partnership students.
The schools and their students contribute the funds to operate
the courses run by INA Partnership.
